Can He Save Her?

Narrative Writing

WALT: write a narrative that is descriptive (paints a picture in the reader’s mind)

This week we are creating a piece of narrative writing about a comic book hero! 

You are to use the picture on the left as your story starter or even your story finisher. Not sure what this means? Well, the picture could depict what is happening in the beginning of your story. You would describe the events from the picture then tell your audience what happens next. Or if you’re using the picture as your story ending, what are the events that led to this action packed scene?

You will need to write a minimum of 4 paragraphs. I would like some of you to extend yourselves and write at least 6-8 paragraphs.

→ It was dawn in New York and Spiderman ( also known as Spidey) was swinging down the city around the tall high-rise buildings effortlessly. Suddenly a group of police cars skidded down the street heading towards the crime scene. Suddenly Spidey’s spider senses went off and he heard a bank alarm go off in the distance. So the web-crawler leapt into action. When Spidey was at the scene he saw the Green Goblin dragging a sack full of precious treasures and valuables. As the villain was escaping, a police car headed straight towards him. But the Goblin had a dirty trick up his sleeves. As the police car approached  the villain threw a pumpkin bomb at the cop. Suddenly the bomb went off leaving the poor cop to get trapped and stuck in a fire.  That fire grew large and suddenly there was a loud explosion. Spidey then shot a web in the burning car pulling out the cop to save him from the fiery explosion.

After saving the cop, Spidey swang across the street to catch the villainous Green Goblin. But then suddenly a huge shadow came down on Spidey, it was as if the world had gone darker than dark. Spiderman looked around and saw Sandman, an evil ally of Green Goblin. “ Hello, little spider”. Said Sandman. “ Miles, now! “. yelled Spidey. Suddenly Miles came out of nowhere and kicked Sandman’s arm off, releasing Spidey. When Spiderman was free he shot multiple webs at Green Goblin, catching the villain and making him a soft landing.

While the heroes were capturing Green Goblin, Sandman was making his escape. But when the heroes noticed the escaping they left Green Goblin and swang across the street trying  to corner Sandman. When Sandman saw he could not win, he saw a girl and captured her. The heroes quickly went into action and saw the Sandman was with the girl on a building. “One more step and she’s gone,” shouted Sandman. The heroes however didn’t stop, making Sandman drop the girl. Spidey then started to swing as fast as he could so he could catch the girl.

He got to the ground and made a trampoline out of spider-webs, then as the girl fell she had a soft landing. Sandman was furious and ran away to make his escape. “Don’t worry Miles you did good for a kid,”. Spidey spoke awkwardly “Thanks Peter,”. replied Miles. “ We’ll catch Sandman soon,”. The police arrived to put Green Goblin behind bars. After saving the city, the two heroes watched from the skyscrapers of Manhattan staring down at the city.

Beginning
Once upon a time there was a normal boy. His name was Jack. Jack lived in the hillside village along with his mother. Jack lived a poor life with his mother, they had no money or food. Jack and his mother also lived in a broken house. The windows were broken, the roof had holes and they barely had a door. Early in the morning when there was no sun at all. Jack’s mother woke him up. ‘’ What time is it? ‘’ yawned Jack while feeling sleepy. ‘’ Go to the market and sell our cow. So we can have food to eat,’’ said Jack’s Mum. So Jack got up and headed to the market with his cow. When Jack reaches the market a stranger comes by. ‘’I will trade you these magical beans for your cow, ‘’ traded the stranger. ‘’ Sure! ‘’ accepted Jack and with that Jack ran all the way back home. But when Jack showed the beans to his mother she growled at him and then she threw the beans outside. She was so angry and sent Jack away.
Middle
It was morning and Jack woke to a surprise! When he looked through his window outside in his garden he saw a huge beanstalk. It went all the way up into the clouds. Jack’s mother was still asleep so Jack decided to climb the beanstalk. So Jack got outside and started climbing. But as the boy was climbing he got hungry. Luckily, Jack saw a great big castle. Jack walked to the castle and knocked two times. A huge tall cook answered the door. ‘’ Can I please have something to eat? ‘’ asked Jack. Then the cook answered ‘’ Oh my lord! Please come in.’’ So Jack came in and received food. But then big footsteps approached. Someone big was coming. ‘’ Oh dear, that’s the giant coming. Hide!’’ said the cook. Jack went and hid in the cupboard. ‘’ Fee fi fo fum. I smell like a human!‘’ said the giant. But the cook replied ‘’ No, No you smell meat!’’ So the giant went to count his gold. But when he left Jack leapt from the cupboard and stole the gold!
Jack decided to also steal the giant’s goose and so he did, leaving the giant in confusion.

End
After everything that happened the giant decided to go to bed. When he was in bed. He spoke ‘’ Play please my harp.’’ Then the harp came out and started playing with no one touching it! ‘’Wow! ‘’ whispered Jack in amazement. So Jack got out from hiding and stole the harp. But Jack wasn’t lucky. The harp screamed ‘’ HELP me master! HELP!’’ The giant then awoke and chased Jack all the way outside. ‘’ Thief! ‘’ the giant yelled. Jack looked behind him and ran to the beanstalk. The giant chased Jack down to the ground. But Jack got there first and got an axe. He then started to chop down the beanstalk making it fall and the giant came tumbling down.

Three Little Pigs – Fixed Fairy Tales

Beginning:

Once upon a time there were three little pigs that started to set off from their home. Because it was time to have their own houses. As they were walking their dad yelled from a far distance ‘’ Watch out for the big bad wolf!, ‘’ he shouted. The pigs already decided what they will do. They had a grin on each of their faces as if they were planning something evil for the wolf. Meanwhile each pig set off and made their houses. The first little pig made a house out of straw. The second pig made a house out of wood and sticks. ‘’ The wolf won’t know what hit him, ‘’ The second little pig grinned evilly as he was making something. The third little pig made a strong house made of bricks. ‘’ The wolf is gonna regret trying to break into my house, ‘’  the third little pig smiled with glee.

Middle:

Then it was time the big bad wolf had come. The mischief wolf came and brought something with him. He entered the straw house first. ‘’ Little pig, Little pig let me in. ‘’the wolf said. The pig replied ‘’ Not by the hair of my chinny chin-chin.’’ The wolf started to huff and puff. But then the pig came out with a jack in the box. The wolf looked at the box. The box opened and a puff of fire came out. It burned the wolf and there the wolf cried ‘’ Awhoooo.’’ Then the pig punched the wolf and he went flying all the way to the second pig. ‘’ Please help me, ‘’ the wolf asked. ‘’ Not by the hair of my chiny chin- chin.. ‘’ The wolf made a call and out came a crane that was about to hit the poorly made stick house. ‘’ Hahaha! I was just kidding about the help. ‘’ But then the second pig pulled out the uno reverse card. Instead of hitting the house the crane hit the wolf. Then the wolf went flying all the way to the brick house.

End:

The wolf landed on a thorn bush. It really was pain because of how spiky the bush was. ‘’ Please let me in. I was first burned then I got hit into the sky  and now I was wanked  by my very own crane! So please if you are there let me in, ‘’ the wolf said sadly. ‘’ Not by the hair of my chiny chin-chin, ‘’ the third pig replied.

‘’ Oh no! You’re not one of those crazy pigs? Are you? ‘’ the wolf answered. Then the mischievous pig launched the wolf all the way to a maximum security prison. ‘’Why did this happen? ‘’ the wolf said as  he questioned himself. At the end. The three little pigs lived happily ever after and they never heard from the wolf again.

Task Description: Today we learnt how to say ” said ” in different words for writing.

Task Description:

Task Description: Today we wrote about what happened at assembly.

This morning I arrived late to school. I got to the assembly and sat down with my classmates. When I looked up to the stage Mr Burt, Mr Sommervile, Mr J and Ms Nua. They are in costumes like a soldier, a pharaoh, Ms Incredible and Spiderman. Then Mr Burt announced Team One. It was a nice movie about guessing emotions. It had Mrs Shirley, Ms Dywer , Ms Lal and Ms Squires. But they were guessing the emotion as Bob the Builder, a ballerina, the warriors fan and the clown. The person seeing who is the winner is Ms Hockley. First some tunes were played and the clown said ‘’ happy ‘’. Then some sad tunes played. Bob said ‘’ Sad ‘’ and it was correct. After that some scary tunes happened. The rugby fan said ‘’ Scary music? ‘’ and he was right! After that, the winner was announced. It was Ms Hockly we were all laughing.

After that Ms Hockly said ‘’ Team One will be learning about how to express our emotions’’. Then Team Two’s movie started. It played one of the Moari stories in New Zealand. It showed Tanemauta and his brother the God of birds. They said one of the birds must give their wings to them to save the forest. None of them wanted to save the forest until the brothers got down to the last bird. Kiwi said ‘’ I will save the forest.’’. Then it showed the life of a Kiwi it was a sad story.

Now Team Three were acting on Matilda the Musical. It was based on a scene where the boy had to eat an entire chocolate cake and that boy was Bobby John. The teacher was Mrs Moala and the rest were students. Mrs Moala came out in a tantrum and she said ‘’ WHO ATE MY CHOCOLATE CAKE! ‘’ Then Bobby John came out with a big burp. The mad Mrs Moala said ‘’ If you eat the chocolate cake all will be forgiven’’. Then Mrs Moala left without a word. Then Bobby John got started and was eating bit by bit. Then the rest sang a song saying ‘’ You can do this ‘’. Then Bobby John was full then Mrs Moala emerged from the door suddenly Mrs Moala looked at Bobby John. Next he smudged a big handful of cake onto Mrs Moala’s face. Then it all ended with an assembly full of laughter.

After that it was Team Four’s turn. The Team Four teachers said they will be doing an act about guessing the emotion by body language. First up it was Mrs Sio. I think she was acting like she was happy. Everyone got it right. Ms Tuia I think she acted as if she was mad. EVeryone in the assembly got it right yet again. Ms Tumahai was angry with Ms Parrant being sad. I thought it was kinda easy but still the assembly was surrounded by loud clapping.

Next up is Team Five acting for Cinderella the princess who was Mr Moran. The person telling the tale is Mr WIseman. Whea Saf and Ms Langitupu were the evil sisters and down came Mrs Iloa as the Prince. It starts with Cinderella getting ready for the ball her fairy Godmother gave her a dress and pretty shoes. Then she went and danced with the prince. Then Cinderella ran away. But the prince ripped off the dress. Then the evil sisters tried to trick the prince into thinking that he would fall for them. The evil sisters knew Cinderella left her shoe at the ball. But when they tried to make their evil scheme their heads got cut off. Cinderella didn’t want to marry a head chopper. So she went back to the market and married a fruit seller who was Mr Wiseman. At the end the crowd had gone wild and cheered then it ended with us going and starting school.

Task Description:

Task Description:

We start to line up in our togs and with our day-bags on our back. When we arrive at Point England Beach we put our shoes and day-bags to side. Once we did that then we put on our life jackets. When Mr Somerville starts talking he starts explaining how to control the kayaks and how to steer. After Mr Somerville finishes talking then we start to take off. We can other buddy up or go by ourselves.

We can go around the pole with the green triangle or around that red checkpoint. It is hard for some people to do kayaking but that is why we have Mr Andrews and one the helpers to come rescue us. In case we get stuck they will steer us back to shore.  

After the kayaking we sit down on the pristine sand as our feet was touching the light blue water lapping on the sand. Mr Somerville starts to announce people who did so good at kayaking.  

The picture is a portrait of Tanemahuta also known as Tane for short. Tane is the God of the forest and he is the oldest of his siblings. Tane is a strong God who helped his brothers separate their parents. His parents names are Ranginui and Papatuanuku they are the Gods of the earth and the sky.

All the creatures in nature and the trees in the forest listen to Tane. All the birds and the animals seen in the picture  surrounding Tane see him as their protector. He is seen as strong as a mountain. This picture shows Tane brown and muscular body standing  muscular body standing tall and stoic.

Task Description: Today we did a task of Describing Writing about Ranginui and Papatuanuku.

 There was a bridge as long as a wall.  The cow ran as quick as a flash to the grass so it could eat. On the other side of the bridge was green luscious bushes covering the bridge like fog. In the river was normal pale blue waters but the water was nice and clean to drink. 

 There were iron gates as solid as a rock. Also there were network towers as tall as a mountain. There was a normal looking house the moss was covering the house and forests were surrounding the house like the hills and mountains.
